Sardinia and Abruzzo
This week at The Italian Market I have chosen some new and unique wines from Abruzzo and Sardinia to share. The Capichera winery from Sardinia is new to the shop, and after initially tasting their white Vermentino wine and Carignan based red blend I knew immediately that these would be great new wines to show. Equally as exciting is the white wine from Tenuta Ulisse made from 100% Cococciola. This grape is typically a minor blending varietal in Abruzzo, yet its rediscovery in recent years is seeing it take center stage, producing a truly fantastic wine. And we shall complete the tasting with a classic Montepulciano from the Contesa winery.
