FREE Wine Tasting
NOVEMBER 06, 2026   5-7:30 pm

Last week I tasted over 100 wines in my pursuit of finding the best wines to share with folks here at The Italian Market.  Palate fatigue and a much needed tooth brushing aside, I am so excited with what I discovered.  This week we will be tasting wines from The Piedmont and the Marche regions of Italy.  Small producers, burgeoning co- ops, and rare varietals will be on the table, so stop by and taste with us!  You won’t want to miss out.

We will be tasting:

Roberto Crosio “Erbalus” Erbaluce:  Erbaluce is an ancient varietal grown within the Canavese hills.  Roberto Crosio’s winery is at the base of the Valle D’Aosta.  These high altitude and isolated hills produce Erbaluce that is sunny and delightful.  Fresh citrus, green grape and apple, a touch of white flowers, with a round mid palate.

Cantina Clavesana “Terra” Langhe Nebbiolo:  this delicious Nebbiolo comes from a Co- op of 200 families first started in 1959.  From humble beginnings they now are the leading producer of Dogliani and Dolcetto wines in the Langhe.  But their Nebbiolo is fantastic.  Structured and lively with juicy tart cherry, spices, orange zest, pressed flowers, and savory earthy qualities.

Marchetti Castro di Sansilvestro:  Made predominantly of Montepulciano with a touch of Sangiovese.  This is a classic Marche styling.  Dark cherry, raspberry, and blackberry flavors framed by firm but not aggressive tannins.  Its acidity is lively and juicy due to its fermentation in steel tank and maturation in concrete.  No oak on this wine.

Tenuta Stefano Graidi “Collequanto” Serrapetrona:  the Serrapetrona DOC specializes in the rare Vernaccia Nero grape, making wines that are rich, full bodied, tannic and well structured.  This wine has notes of black cherry, violets, pomegranates, and cola.
