This Friday we will be tasting wines with Ebony Booth of Well Crafted Wine & Beverage company. Ebony and I have picked four different wines from France, South Africa, and The U.S. that cover many different wine styles and growing practices.
Chateau D’Avrille Anjou blanc: 100% Chenin Blanc from Anjou in Frances Loire Valley. Crisp and dry style of Chenin Blanc. Flavors of citrus, pear, stone fruits, and a touch of honey.
Remhoogte Wine Estates “Free To Be” Syrah: Fresh and elegant Syrah from South Africa. Whole Cluster Syrah undergoes carbonic maceration, resulting in a juicy and brighter finished wine, with notes of black currants, cherry, plums, and a whiff of violets.
Chateau Maris Biodynamic Syrah-Grenache: this estate is considered one of the “greenest” wineries in the world with its focus on environmental sustainability and biodynamic farming. A pioneer making stunning wines in the Languedoc, France.
Saddleback Cellars “Rancher Red”: A classic Napa red made up of 82% Cabernet, 9% Cab Franc, and 9% Petite Syrah. Full bodied and dense with big flavors of dark cherry, blackberry, vanilla, and cocoa.

This October Vassie, The Wine Guy, will be showcasing some of his favorite fall wines from Northern Italy! We will be tasting whites and reds from The Valle D’Aosta, Lombardy, The Veneto, and The Piedmont regions each with their own unique style and expression of place. These are a fun mix of small family producers, rebels, rarities, and masters of tradition, side by side to best enhance the season. Charcuterie will be offered along with the wines being tasted.
L’Arco Has Landed
These wines are first-come first-served. I want everyone to enjoy these special bottles, but once they are gone, they are gone until the next offering.
2022 L’Arco Vino Rosso - $37.99 - Corvina, Rondinella, Sangiovese Grosso, and Molinara. Minimum 12 months in traditional Botti barrels, released 3 years after harvest.
2022 L’Arco “Arcum” - $52.99 - Decalssified Ripasso. Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara. Set in tank for over 6 months, then 20 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
2021 L’Arco “Pario” - $84.99 - Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara. Set in tank for 6 months, then blended and aged for 28 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
2020 L’Arco “Rubeo” - $89.99 - Cab franc, Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, Merlot, and Cabernet. Set in tank for 6 months, then blended and aged foe 40 months in Slavonian oak.
