​This Friday I felt like doing a side by side of French and Italian wines made from lesser known varietals.

Domaine Bellevue Touraine Rose:
A store favorite, ready for Spring. A blend of Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Cot. Fresh, lively and just delicious.

Domain Fontareche Corbiere:
A perfect Bistro wine from Southern France. A blend of Carignan, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Picpoul Noir. Juicy dark fruits, a soft pepper spice and and bright kiss of acidity. Delightful.

Principe Di Butera:
An eye opening Merlot from Sicily. Merlot really speaks a whole new language when grown in Italy. Rich and spicy with berry fruits, vanilla, and a tough of cocoa.

Mastrobernardino Lacryma Christi:
“Christ’s tears”. A red wine made from Piedirosso, grown on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. These wines have been produced since the Roman times. Aromas of cherries, plums, raspberries, and black pepper. Refined, light tannins and bright acidity make this a lifting, fruity wine.
