A Taste of the Islands

Tonight’s wines are all island wines! The Maryland heat and humidity is here, and its great to imagine being on a private island somewhere with a delicious wine in your glass. Well, I’ve got em’ here at the Market!

Tonight’s wines are:

Dettori Renosu Bianco: A lovely Vermentino from Sardinia with a kiss of moscato. Peaches and citrus with a crunchy mineral backbone from the limestone and sand rich soils

Channing Daughters Rose: 100% Cabernet Franc rose from Long Islnd, New York. I was floored at how well made this wine was. Never judge a book by its cover.

Dettori Renosu Bianco: The brother wine to the bianco, this red is a lovely aromatic Cannonau, with bright cherry fruits mingling with oregano and wild herb aromatics.

Casa D’Ambra Ischia Rosso: The showstopper from the island of Ischia. A lovely blend of Piedirosso, Aglianico, and a touch of Cabernet. Dark berry fruits, balsamic notes, tobacco, spices, and pure expression of Ischia Terroir.
