FREE Wine Tasting
September 4, 2026 5-7:30 pm
It’s a new month, so lets taste new wines! This Friday we will be showcasing wines from Cantiniere Imports with my friend Kristen Robinson. Cantiniere is a small importing company that specializes in Italian wines and spirits. I love what they do and always get excited when there is something new in their portfolio. This Friday we will be tasting wines from The Piedmont, Umbria, and Calabria.
We will be tasting:
- Ippolito Ciro Bianco: made from 100% Greco Bianco. This is a perfect wine for late summer sipping. It’s crisp and expressive, with flavors of ripe tropical fruits, citrus, soft floral notes, and a touch of salt.
- Sergio Mottura Orvieto: A 50/50 blend of Grechetto and Procanico grapes from Umbria. Its both traditional and engaging, with flavors of citrus, pear skin, stone fruits, crunchy mineral hints, and light lip smacking bitter finish.
- Montalbera Ruche di Castagnole Monferrato: this wine is intense and aromatic. A portion of the wine is made with concentrated late harvest grapes and shows notes of raspberry and wild berry preserves, all wrapped by a bouquet of roses and violets.
- Tenuta Cucco Langhe Rosso: This is the only Piedmont wine I’ve had that is a Cabernet and Merlot blend. It’s a Piemonte Bordeaux! It has all the elegance expected from these grapes, but has a uniquely Italian accent and flair: bright and refreshing acidity, grippy tannins, and not as dense as some riper Bordeaux or California wines of this same blend.
See ya at The Market
