TASTY TUESDAYS 07-14-26
We’re half way through July already folks! It’s amazing how fast the Summer has been going by, and I hope everyone has been drinking delicious wines. This Tuesday I wanted to shine a light on lesser known Northern European grape varietals that are refreshing and so good on a Summer day.
- Evolucio Dry Furmint: Furmint is a native grape of Hungary that should be on everyone’s radar. Snappy and crisp, this wine shows notes of lemon, green apple, apricot and a touch of delicate floral aromas. Its racy acidity is lip smacking, perfect for a Sauvignon blanc lover wanting to branch out.
- Pfeffingen Dry Scheurebe: Germany has other wines besides Riesling! This dry Sheurebe is like capturing a soft spring day in a bottle, with notes of Meyer lemon, citrus, melon fruits, and ripe apple making up the core of this wine. Fermented dry, this wine is like a cool breeze on a hot day.
- Abbazia Di Novacella Kerner: Grapes don’t know lines on a map folks. So it’s not surprising that the German grape, Kerner, grows beautifully in the mountainous regions of Northern Italy. This wine is juicy and supple with a ribbon of acidity that lifts it along ones palate. It has lovely flavors of peach, green apple, grapefruit, and a pinch of salt. This wine flies off the shelves.
See ya at The Market
